Some call it perspiration or Mothers "a healthy glow," but the bottom line is, if you're an athlete, you sweat! And the more the better, at least when we're working out. Perspiration (sweating) is the production of a fluid, consisting of water as well as various dissolved solids (chiefly chlorides), that are excreted by our sweat glands. Sweat contains the chemicals or odorants 2-methylphenol (o-cresol) and 4-methylphenol (p-cresol), as well as a small amount of urea. Note: Sweat is not pure water; it always contains a small amount (0.21%) of solute.
